US health regulator approves Pfizer pill for Covid for emergency use


The US health regulator approved the Pfizer pill for Covid for emergency use.

According to Reuters, Pfizer announced that the FDA has approved its antiviral pill for Covid making it the first home coronavirus treatment that is expected to become an important tool against the spread of the Omicron variant.

Data from the Pfizer clinical trial showed that this treatment was 90% effective in preventing hospitalization and death in patients at high risk for serious illness. Recent laboratory data indicate that the drug retains its effectiveness against Omicron.

The agency said it has approved the oral emergency drug for the treatment of mild to moderate disease in adult and pediatric patients aged 12 years and over weighing at least 40 kg, who are at high risk for
serious Covid.

O Pfizer CEO Albert Burla, In a TV interview he had stated a few days ago that in March, fortunately, the pill for the treatment of Covid-19 will be available.
