Pfizer: The Paxlovid antiviral pill for home use has been approved by the FDA


Pharmaceuticals Inc. Pfizer announced today that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved its antiviral pill for Covid-19

This will be the 1st treatment for new coronavirus which can be taken at home and is expected to become an important tool in the fight against rapidly spreading Omicron variant.

The data from clinical trial of Pfizer showed that the antiviral shape 2 drugs suggested was by 90% effective in preventing hospitalization and death in patients at high risk of developing severe disease. Recent laboratory data suggest that the drug retains its efficacy against Ομικρον.
