France – More than 100,000 cases await

France announced today that 84,272 new COVID-19 infections have been reported in the last 24 hours, approaching the all-time high of nearly 87,000 cases recorded in November 2020.

The figure, just a breath away from the 84,999 new cases recorded during the peak of the spring wave of the pandemic that struck France in April, was also the second highest in the country this year.

The French health minister said earlier today that by the end of this month the new infections could exceed 100,000.
