Fauci – Large parties are not safe even for the vaccinated

Leading US epidemiologist Anthony Fauci has warned that attending large concentrations of more than 40 people is not considered safe for those who have been vaccinated, even those who have had a booster dose.

“There are many parties with 30, 40, 50 people, where you do not know the vaccination history of everyone. “These are events of the kind you do not want to attend, in the context of the (variant) Omicron,” Fauci told reporters at the White House.

Cases in the US increased by 25% compared to the previous week, reaching 149,300 daily, on average, said the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Rosell Wallenski.

73% of cases are due to Omicron

It is estimated that 73% of cases across the country are due to Omicron, as broadcast by APE-MPE. This percentage reaches as high as 90% in some areas, such as the Atlantic States, parts of the Midwest, the South and the North Pacific.

“This increase in the Omicron ratio is what we expected and were preparing for,” Waleski said.

President Joe Biden, meanwhile, announced that 250,000 regimens of Pfizer’s new antiviral drug approved for Covid-19 would be available in January.

The US had pre-ordered 10 million regimens pending approval of the pill by regulators. White House’s pandemic coordinator Jeffrey Zinz said the drugs would be distributed to states and communities for free.
