MINION put on its festive clothes again

Two days before Christmas, the building that housed the historic MINION department store, shone again, creating a festive atmosphere in a very busy area of ​​Athens, near Omonia Square. The mayor of Athens, Costas Bakogiannis, and the president and CEO of the real estate development company Dimand, Dimitris Andriopoulos, illuminated the former department store, giving it something of its old glory. “In this”, as mentioned in a relevant announcement of Dimand, “the work that the graffiti artist, Soteur, took care to draw on the walls around the perimeter of the building. The art and lighting project, “Childhood dreams build the future”, came to warm the hearts of all visitors in the city center during these festive days “.

The former department store has a total area of ​​16,000 sq.m. and the goal is – as soon as the work of its reconstruction in a model bioclimatic building of office and commercial spaces is completed – “to become an attractive destination that will contribute to the modern history of the city and the revival of Patissia, but also to the wider area of ​​the center of Athens ».

For his part, the president and CEO of Dimand, Dimitris Andriopoulos, stated that “When we undertook the renovation of MINION, we considered that this is another building. But the reactions of the people made us understand that this is a part of the history of the Athenians, but also of most Greeks “. He added: “With the regeneration of MINION, the older ones will relive pleasant memories and the younger ones will have new performances and experiences”.
