China – About 13 million people enter lockdown

The coronavirus continues to declare “present” and afflict the planet.

In the shadow of the Omicron variant, many countries impose new strict restrictions while others, such as the Netherlands, do not hesitate to re-enter the lockdown.

The same thing happens in the city of Xi’an in China.

On Tuesday (21/12) 52 new cases were recorded and from the next day the approximately 13 million inhabitants entered the quarantine.

Residents are not allowed to leave their homes except for emergencies, schools have been closed, public structures and means of transportation have been “locked in” and only hospitals and supermarkets remain open.

As of December 9, a total of 206 cases have been reported

On Wednesday (22/12), the Authorities recorded 63 new cases, the largest number during the month.

The new outbreak is said to be linked to a flight from Pakistan on December 4, where at least six passengers tested positive for the Delta variant.

So far, the city has not confirmed a case of the Omicron variant.

In addition to Xi’an, cases have also been reported in Henan Province, Zhejiang Province, Guangdong, Guangxi Zone and Beijing.
