The U.S. Federal Court of Appeals ruled on Thursday that former US President Donald Trump could not block the delivery to Congress of White House files that could have implicated him in the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol by his supporters.
This decision paves the way for the handing over of these files to the parliamentary committee investigating the case and the role of the former chairman in it.
The Court of Appeals ruled that Trump’s request was unfounded.
It is possible that the former Republican president will appeal to the Supreme Court to overturn the decision.
