The European Commission has presented its long-awaited proposal to improve the rights of workers on digital platforms, such as food distribution services.
The European Parliament, for its part, is calling for the same rights as for traditional workers, such as social security contributions and the protection of their health and safety.

In September 2021 the EP called for improved working conditions for those
work in food transport and delivery services, as they are often mistaken for self-employed.
