Another episode unfolded in the last hours in the Black Sea, with the tension in the area rising.
Russia has launched a Su-30 fighter jet, which rushed to escort a US R-8A reconnaissance aircraft, over neutral waters in the Black Sea.
According to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, the American aircraft did not violate the borders of the Russian Federation.
“After the removal of the foreign military aircraft from the state borders of the Russian Federation, the Russian fighter successfully returned to the airport of its base”, the announcement notes according to the APE-MPE.
The incident comes amid Western concerns about the deployment of Russian troops near the Ukrainian border.
A day earlier, Russian Su-27 fighters had also taken off to escort French and US military aircraft during their flight over the Black Sea.
Also yesterday (9/12), the ship “Donbass” of the Ukrainian Navy was sailing to the Kerch Strait and did not comply with the orders for a change of course, according to what became known by the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB).
