UK: Omicron is spreading at an unprecedented rate

An alarm has been sounded in the UK regarding the spread of the new Omicron variant. The new executive is spreading rapidly and has caused concern among the state and scientists.

In particular, the Omicron variant of the new coronavirus is spreading at an “unprecedented rate” and therefore people should take a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine because those who have taken both doses are vulnerable, the health minister said today. Britain’s Sajid Javid.

If the government does not act…

Although the British minister noted that there are no confirmed deaths in England yet, the Omicron variant is probably responsible for about 40% of infections in London and stressed that if the government does not act, the health system could be flooded.

“What we do know about Omicron is that (…) it is spreading at an unprecedented rate, it is something we have never seen before, the incidence doubles every two to three days,” Javid told Sky News.

“This means that we are facing a tidal wave of infections, that we are once again facing a road race between the vaccine and the virus,” he said.
