Turkey: 171 deaths 18,800 new coronavirus infections in 24 hours


The Turkish Ministry of Health announced on Monday that 18,796 cases of SARS-CoV-2 had been confirmed in the past 24 hours after more than 350,000 tests, with the total number of registered infections reaching 9,058,975.

The deaths of 171 patients due to complications of COVID-19 increased the death toll to 79,322 dead until yesterday, March 11, 2020, when the new coronavirus pandemic broke out in Turkish territory.

On the front of the immunization campaign, as of January 14, 2021, almost 51 million people have been fully vaccinated – out of a total population of 83 million – while over 56 million have received the first dose, according to official data.
