THE Ukraine loses $ 170 million every day cut off from access to sea ​​and export its capabilities have been cut by more than half, Prime Minister Dennis Smigal said today.

“Ninety million tonnes of agricultural products, which Ukraine planned to export to countries in Asia, Africa and Europe, have been blocked,” Smegal said in the southern port of Odessa, speaking alongside European Council President Charles Michel.

The Ukrainian prime minister noted that some products had been exported by road or rail, but some other stocks remained in areas under bombardment or occupied by Russia.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for immediate action to reopen Ukrainian ports blocked by Russia to allow wheat exports and prevent a global food crisis.
