Rabobank will in future offer customers the option to pay with Google Pay via the bank’s app, reports android world Wednesday.

Google Pay can be used with an Android phone, which can then be used to pay contactless in stores.

According to Androidworld, Rabobank will eventually stop using its current wallet for contactless payments. Google Pay will replace it. It is not yet known when the feature will be introduced.

bunq, N26 and Revolut were the first banks to offer Google Pay in the Netherlands in November 2020. Via these online banks, the system could already be used in all stores that accepted payments with Mastercard and Visa. ABN AMRO followed last year and Google’s own payment app is now also available.
