Travels to Europe for NATO summit and trade talks


THE US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will travel to Germany on Saturday to join meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers who will consider North Atlantic Alliance response to the war in Ukraineannounced today State Department.

THE German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock called ministers last month for an informal meeting in Berlin. The meeting takes place as Finland, worried about the Russian invasion of Ukraine, is moving towards NATO membership.

THE NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that any accession process would be “smooth and fast” and that Finland would be warmly welcomed.

The Sunday, May 15, Blinken will travel to Paris with the US Commercial Representative Kathryn Tai and Minister of Commerce Gina Raimondo for Second US-EU Trade and Technology Council Ministerial Meeting.
