SYRIZA Elections: Voting for the election of the President and the Central Committee is in progress

The elections of the “SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance” for the election of the president and the new Central Committee of the party are taking place today from 08:00 to 20:00.

The main political goal of the main opposition party is to strengthen SYRIZA-PS and to send a “clear message of political change”.

As the president of SYRIZA-PS Alexis Tsipras has repeatedly stated during the election campaign: “We want the 1,000 polling stations to become 1,000” post offices “through which the citizens will send a registered” bill “to the one who led us here today. to Mr. Mitsotakis “,” we want the message of political change together with the message of hope to go from one end to the other throughout the place “.

The process

From 08:00 until 20:00, voters will arrive at the approximately 1,000 polling stations set up in all regions across the country.

In each constituency there will be two different ballot boxes: one for the election of the president and one for the election of the members of the Central Committee.

To participate in the election process, the citizen must have a police ID or passport or driver’s license or health booklet or residence permit or visa or blue certificate.

For participation in the electoral process, a payment of electoral assistance of 2 euros has been set, from which the unemployed and young people up to 30 years of age are exempted.

Everyone from the age of 15 onwards has the right to vote for the election of the president. Both the existing members of the party and those who register today during the on-site elections in the polling stations, filling out the application for registration of a new member.

According to the election circular, all party members, regardless of their registration date, can vote in all constituencies in the country at the ballot box.

Those who register on election day or are already members but have registered after March 21, can vote in any constituency throughout Greece.

Also, those who are already members and have registered until March 21 and are outside the Region to which they belong, can vote in any constituency throughout Greece but only for president.

All members of SYRIZA-PS who have registered until March 21 and vote in any constituency within the Region to which they belong have the right to vote for the election of the Central Committee.

From yesterday, Saturday, and today from 08:00 to 20:00, the voting for the Articles of Association is held, with a special information system under the responsibility of the Central Election Commission (KEFE).

The right to participate in the voting for the statute, after the relevant decision of the plenary session of the Conference have the delegates who voted in the ballot boxes of the conference on Saturday, April 16.

The central responsibility of the electoral process for the election of the president and members of the Central Committee of SYRIZA – PS is KEFE, which consists of 11 members, as defined by the Congress following a proposal by the Presidency of the Congress, chaired by Elias Nikolakopoulos.
