France: The first possible case of smallpox was detected in Paris


A first possible smallpox outbreak in Francewas located in its wider area Parisas announced today by the Ministry of Health of France, amid indications of the spread of the virus in many countries around the world.

The most common symptoms of smallpox in monkeys are fever and skin rashes. In most cases, patients recover within a few weeks.

There are two main strains of the virus. The most threatening is the Congolese strain, with a mortality rate of up to 10%. The second is the West African strain, whose mortality rate is around 1%.
