KLM stops selling tickets from Schiphol for flights up to and including Sunday

KLM is suspending the sale of plane tickets for flights departing from Schiphol in the coming days. The airline does this due to the crowds at the airport. These are tickets for KLM flights until next Sunday.

“We get a lot of questions from customers who have seen the lines for safety reasons and don’t dare deviate from Schiphol,” said an airline spokesperson. KLM offers a rebooking agreement.

It has been busy at Schiphol for weeks as the airport grapples with major staff shortages. This, combined with a wildcat strike by baggage handlers, created major problems over the May holidays. Travelers had to queue for hours and dozens of flights were canceled.

It has also been very busy the past few days. In some cases, travelers again had to queue for hours. Schiphol told NU.nl on Wednesday that the crowds are expected to continue until after the summer holidays.
