THE President of the Italian Republic Sergio Matarella received him today at the Kyrinal Palace President of Algeria Abdelmajid Tebun.
“Algeria is a strategic partner in the energy sector, but also in a number of other areas. “We are grateful to Algeria for further intensifying this cooperation, which has resulted from contacts with our government,” Matarella said.
“Our cooperation is expanding in the field of ecological transition to identify alternative and renewable energy sources, so that a response can be given to the climate crisis facing the planet,” the Italian president added.

According to the Italian Presidency, the agreements concern the exchange of information in the field of finance, cultural cooperation, tourism and small business.
The state-owned companies Sonatrach and Eni have signed a memorandum of understanding to boost Algeria’s natural gas and green hydrogen production.
