Russia accuses Kyiv of having no intention of negotiating

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Thursday accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of having no intention of negotiating with Moscow and the West over his support for Kyiv.

Mr Zelensky has said he will only negotiate directly with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, only if the Russian armed forces retreat to the pre-war border.

“It’s convenient for the West to support this intransigence,” which, from a “logical” point of view, “does not stand very well,” the Russian foreign minister said in a statement to the Arab service of Russia’s state-run RT television network.
