Zelensky: “The international community is reacting too slowly”

In his daily address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky attacked the international community on Thursday. According to the president, he is reacting far too slowly to Russian aggression against his country. As an example, he cited the European Union’s sixth sanctions package, which has yet to be introduced.

“Of course, I am grateful to our friends who want new sanctions. But when did those who oppose the sixth package get so much power? Why do they still have so much to say, including in business European interiors?

The EU wants to include an import ban on Russian oil in the sixth sanctions package. Some countries oppose it, including Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria. As a result, Russia still earns almost a billion euros a day from energy supplies, says Zelensky.

According to him, since the start of the war three months ago, the international community has had many opportunities to hold Russia to account, saying: “Now Russia is paid in full for what it is doing against the Ukraine, against European unity and against freedom as such. .” .”

Zelensky also said he met with Prime Minister Mark Rutte on Thursday on how to further strengthen Ukraine’s defenses.
