China: Partial easing of anti-COVID-19 restrictions in parts of Beijing


The Beijing will proceed tomorrow, at relaxation of restrictions in some low risk areas of the Chinese capitalin order to allow the return to normalcy, as announced today by city officials.

In Fangshan and Shanghai districts, workers will be able to return to normal working conditions, quitting teleworking, officials said at a news conference.

Public transport including buses, taxis and the metro will operate normally in three areas, while shopping malls will be allowed to open in some areas.

However, the normal operation of tutoring centers, internet cafes and karaoke bars will not be allowed, according to local authorities.

Beijing reported 1,716 cases of infection between April 22 and this afternoon, officials said.
