Melanson: He calls on the French Prime Minister to ask for a vote of confidence

The Prime Minister of France, Elizabeth Bourne, must abide by tradition and ask for a vote of confidence in the newly elected National Assembly, left-wing leader Jean-Luc Melanson said today, noting that the government no longer has a majority.

“Bourne will be defeated,” he stressed.

Earlier, French media reported that opposition parties intend to file a motion of censure against the French Prime Ministerwho is appointed by President Emanuel Macron.

Melanson also told reporters that the parties forming the left-wing Nupes alliance should form a single parliamentary group, which would be the second largest in the National Assembly, after the centrists of President Emanuel Macron.

This proposal, he explained, is mainly based on the fact that the parliamentary group of each party (Socialists, Greens, Communists) would have fewer members than its far-right National Alarm. Marin Lepen.
