Sweden: Worrying economic slowdown in 2022


At least 3 percentage points will slow down this year economic development Sweden, while inflation is expected to soar, according to estimates by the National Institute for Economic Research (NIER).

The Swedish think tank now expects the Nordic economy to grow by 1.9% in 2022, lower than previous estimates of 3.3% in March and lower than 5.1% last year.

Analysts point out that low growth and high inflation will further hamper the central bank’s monetary policy efforts.
