France: The Prime Minister resigned, Macron did not accept it

THE Prime Minister of France Elizabeth Bourne submitted her resignation to President Emanuel Macron, who did not accept it, “so that the government can remain in office” in the coming days, the Elysee Palace announced.

Following Sunday’s election, Emmanuel Macron does not have an absolute majority in the French National Assembly. Given this situation, the head of state will conduct “the necessary political consultations (…) in order to identify the expected constructive solutions in the service of the French”, the Palace of the Elysium clarifies its announcement, before a series of meetings will have with the leaders of the parties in the afternoon the president of France at the presidential palace.
