The New York Stock Exchange closed today with significant gains, after a week of sharp decline triggered by worries about a global economic downturn.
The Dow Jones industrial average closed at 641.47 points (+ 2.15%), at 30,530.25 points.
The Nasdaq index, which is dominated by securities of technology companies, closed with an increase of 270.95 points (+ 2.51%), to 11,069.30 points.
The broader S&P 500 index, indicative of the general trend, closed with an increase of 89.95 points (+ 2.45%), to 3,764.79 points.
At the same time, US bond yields rose. In particular, the 10-year yield increased by five basis points to 3.29% and the 2-year yield increased by two basis points to 3.21%.
In the commodity market, the price of crude WTI moved 1% higher to $ 110.65 and the price of gold fell just 0.1% to $ 1,838 / oz.
In the foreign exchange market, the dollar fell 0.2% against the euro to $ 1.0535.
