Bill Cosby found guilty by a jury of abusing teenagers in 1975

A California jury found on Tuesday that former actor Bill Cosby sexually assaulted a girl in 1975. It allegedly happened when she went with him to the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles when she was 16. The jury awarded victim Judy Huth $500,000 in damages.

Huth told the courtroom that Cosby took her hand and used it for pleasure. The former actor, now 84, was 37 at the time.

Cosby was not in court, but he contradicted the charge in a video. The former actor said he doesn’t remember Huth. He also claimed that the incident could not have taken place because he would not have had any sexual contact with anyone under the age of eighteen.

In March 2022, it was announced that the criminal case against Cosby would not be reopened. The Supreme Court of the United States had rejected a request by prosecutors to this effect. As a result, the former actor and comedian is still on the run.

In 2018, Cosby was sentenced to between three and 10 years in prison for drugging and abusing Andrea Constand. However, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that the trial was not fair.

Dozens of other women have accused Cosby of sexual abuse. Constand’s case, however, was the only one that was not prescribed. However, the statute of limitations did not play a role in Huth’s civil case against Cosby.
