At least 255 people lost their lives in eastern Afghanistan after strong earthquake of 6 magnitude on the Richter scaleaccording to the Associated Press.

There are reports of deaths in the eastern provinces as well Nangarhar and Host.
Information on the quake and casualties is scarce, as Afghanistan has largely distanced itself from the international community since the Taliban seized power.
