Germany renovates obsolete rails and trains

0

The German rail network and the obsolete Deutsche Bahn (DB) trains will be overhauled from 2024. A lot of money is needed for this, but it is not yet known exactly how much.

Among other things, the busy connections between major cities such as Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich are getting a facelift.

The DB railway company will modernize the trains on these lines. The trains are no longer from this era and are regularly cancelled. The train replacement is expected to be completed by 2030.

DB is also increasing its annual maintenance budget by “hundreds of millions” per year.

Rail is a spearhead in Germany for reducing CO2 emissions.
