South Korea: 10 deaths and 7,227 cases of coronavirus in 24 hours


The Korean Disease Control and Prevention Service (KCDA) announced today that 7,422 laboratory-confirmed 24 hours a day until midnight Thursday cases of SARS-CoV-2 and 10 patients died due to complications of COVID-19.

The outbreak of the new coronavirus in South Korea has reached 24,498 deaths out of a total of 18,312,993 infections. The mortality rate remained unchanged at 0.13%.

Cases fell from 7,497 the previous day and remained below the 10,000 threshold for the 15th consecutive day. In the last week, the rolling average of cases that are verified daily is at 7,062.

The number of patients with COVID-19 hospitalized in critical condition, a key indicator, decreased to 52 (-6 in 24 hours).
