Italy: Two Kosovars plotting terrorist attacks

A woman and a man, born in Italy and originally from Kosovo, are accused of having been trained and preparing terrorist attacks as members of the Islamic State.

According to the Italian media, these are young people, who intended to carry out bombings and then go to Africa.

The prosecutor of the city of Trento, in northern Italy, initially ordered the arrest of both, but the judge in charge of the preliminary investigation ruled that only the man should be placed under house arrest, with an electronic bracelet. He will stay with his family, who are fully integrated into Italian society, to follow a “course aimed at moving away from fundamentalism”.

The charge against the two defendants is an attempt to overthrow the democratic order and recruit new members with the aim of international terrorism.
