THE Foreign Minister Liz Tras will become their leader negotiators of Of Britain with the European Union for the Protocol onNorthern Ireland Following the resignation of Brexit Minister David Frost on Saturday night, it was announced today by the office of the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
“Tras will take ministerial responsibility for the UK’s relationship with the European Union with immediate effect … and will lead the ongoing negotiations to resolve the problems arising from the ongoing operation of the Northern Ireland Protocol,” according to Downing Street.
Liz Trace has been tasked with taking over post-Brexit issues, most notably the controversial protocol governing specific customs arrangements in Northern Ireland.
Tras, a former trade minister who took over the foreign ministry in September, is popular on the Conservative Party base. An avid social media user who is considered a possible future leader of the party, Tra supported “Remain” in the 2016 referendum on Britain’s stay in the European Union, but is now a supporter of Brexit.
