“We have excluded the general lockdown – The festive table is 15% more expensive”

Minister of Development and Investment Adonis Georgiadis spoke about the possible lockdown and the cost of the festive table

Specifically, speaking to ANT1, he said: “We have ruled out general lockdown». He clarified, at the same time, that he has not requested a reduction of the hours or the capacity of the entertainment centers during the festive period, reminding that the entrance allowed only to vaccinated.

Asked why the Special Consumption Tax on fuel, which was created with the aim of combating smuggling, is not abolished, Mr. Georgiadis explained that it is an important source of revenue for the State and a deficit will be created.

As for the Christmas table, it is estimated that compared to last year it will be 15% more expensive, but he explained that this makes sense given that last year we had deflation.

Referring to the Tsiodra-Lytra study, without degrading it, as he stressed, he said that “we have given it a great value” “It’s a scientific issue, the same problems are being discussed by Health Ministers in other countries“, Said Mr. Georgiadis.
