The US Combined Resolve XVI, a multinational combined ground operation, was successfully completed on Saturday, December 18, at the Hohenfels Training Area, home of the 7th Army Training Command in Germany, with 4,600 troops from US units. Greece, Bulgaria, Georgia, the United Kingdom, Italy, Lithuania, Ukraine, Poland, Serbia and Slovenia.
As announced in this regard by the General Staff of National Defense (GEETHA), the “Combined Resolve XVI”, in which the Greek Armed Forces participated with officers in the staff of the trainee multinational brigade, as well as with observers, assessors and a were NATO Command Post Exercise, Fire Coordination Exercise and Combined Arms Life Fire Exercise and Field Training Exercise, under the direction of US Army Europe (USAREUR).
The exercise began on November 29, 2021 and aimed at evaluating and certifying the ability of the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team – 1st Infantry Division to execute multinational operations in a multi-level business environment, as part of its participation in Operation Atlantic Resolve, in accordance with Alliance procedures , according to the announcement.
Greece’s participation in the exercise is part of the broader planning of GEETHA in terms of international cooperation of the Armed Forces to increase interoperability and synergy with friends and allies.
