THE Association of Insurance Companies of Greece, has as a priority its strengthening economic literacy of young people through familiarity them with its meanings modern economic environment.
In this context, in collaboration with the Association of Youth Entrepreneurship (SEN), it implements from 2019 in schools of the country the educational program “I dream wisely”, which is addressed to students of the 5th and 6th grade and the 1st Gymnasium. For the school year 2021-2022 the program, having received the approval of the Ministry of Education, joined the Skills Laboratories while adapting to the new data created by the pandemic.
In the first years of its implementation, the program “I dream wisely” achieved a high degree of student participation, with over 2,000 students from schools in Attica and the region and with a very high degree of satisfaction. The students who expressed a positive impression from their participation in the program approach 98%, while more than 9 out of 10 students stated that they can recommend it to their friends.
This school year, an additional 1,000 students were trained.
While the program started as a pilot in 2019, with the lively voluntary participation of insurance market executives, “I Dream Wisely” has evolved into a fully online and interactive educational program, in which students participate exclusively through the digital platform dreamwisely.gr. Through an upgraded and friendly environment the platform has been transformed into an interactive “board game board”. Each student who participates, moves from unit to unit, using the knowledge he acquires, in order to become familiar with the concepts of entrepreneurship, risk, foresight and security.
“In a world where the economic environment is becoming increasingly complex, citizens today are often called upon to make important economic decisions and plan their lives, failing to understand basic relevant concepts and terms. EAEE, as an institutional body of the insurance industry, with the implementation of the program “I dream wisely” takes action and tries to familiarize students with basic financial concepts, but also to give the next generations of citizens the necessary supplies to move safely and responsibly to modern financial environment “, said the General Director of EAEE, Margarita Antonaki.
