Spain – Pandemic sweeps the country – Homicron half cases


Spain set a Covid-19 case record on Tuesday with 49,823 infections in 24 hours, and the Omicron variant, which is more contagious than the previous ones, is responsible for almost half of them, according to the Ministry of Health.


During the last 14 days, an average of 695 cases per 100,000 inhabitants were recorded. Between December 6-12, 47% of new cases were due to Omicron.

Spain was one of the countries hardest hit by the first wave of the pandemic.
