Japan: Lack of French fries – Only small portions in fast food (video)

Japan’s supply of potatoes has been hit by the “butterfly effect”, with Japan’s McDonald’s chain being forced to cut back on french fries due to floods in Canada and a global pandemic.

Specifically, and according to the popular fast food chain, from Friday and for a week it will sell the small size of french fries due to the reduced imports from Canada.

“Due to the large-scale flooding near Vancouver, but also the global supply disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic, there are delays in the supply of potatoes,” the company said.

However, it is explained that measures have been taken to ensure that customers will continue to order and enjoy their classic potatoes, although “the stable supply of raw materials proves difficult”.
