EU: Infringement proceedings against Poland for European law


THE European Commission started infringement procedure against Poland following his decision Constitutional Court of the country which challenged the principle of its supremacy European against national law.

“We consider that this decision violated the general principles of autonomy, supremacy, efficiency and uniform application of the law in the Union, as well as the binding decisions of the Court of Justice of the European Union. “We also believe that the Constitutional Court no longer meets the requirements of an independent and impartial tribunal in accordance with the law of the European Union,” said European Union Commissioner for Economic Affairs Paolo Gentiloni.
